The Fisheries and Oceans Department said the whale was spotted Tuesday on the north shore of the river, near Quebec's Saguenay-St Lawrence Marine Park.
Four Canadian passengers who were onboard MV Hondius during a hantavrius will fly to an airport near Quebec City where they'll switch planes to return to British Columbia.
